Apostilles

An apostille serves to verify the authenticity of the signature from the issuing official or notary public. Each state designates a Competent Authority tasked with providing apostilles for documents, enabling them to gain recognition in foreign countries that are signatories of the 1961 Hague Convention Treaty. This streamlined process is effectively conducted at the Secretary of State’s office.
